Students enrolled in exercise science courses learn how exercise, nutrition, weight control and stress-management promote health and how to relate those skills into their future professional practices. Courses of study include the causes, prevention and management of disease, as well as knowledge of general anatomy, physiology and biomechanics to customize exercise programs for fitness, metabolism and weight control. At least one Wellness activity class credit is required to graduate from GRCC. Class options include; aerobic conditioning, yoga level 1 & 2, basketball, first aid and CPR, body tone and strengthen, water aerobics, beginning weight training, dynamics of fitness, soccer, flag football, cycling, spinning, zumba, golf, volleyball, personal defense, and more!
