The American Breast Cancer Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization guided by a volunteer Board of Directors, committed to providing education, support, access to early detection of breast cancer and treatment for individuals across the United States who could not otherwise obtain the help they need.
The mission of ABCF is to save lives from breast cancer. We address this challenge by reducing the barriers to breast cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship; and by serving as a resource in efficiently and compassionately guiding patients through the healthcare system.
Increasing access to breast health screening and other breast care initiatives and interventions aimed at reducing racial/ethnic disparities in breast cancer detection and treatment have a strong potential to influence overall differences in outcomes. Furthermore, dedicated community advocates can be the bridge between the underserved and the healthcare system in simplifying an otherwise confusing and difficult process.
