We started BabaNonna in 2011 with the idea that we were going to specialize in Italian and Slovak specialties which reflect our family heritages. Tom, being that of Italian and Slovak descent, and Margo being Slovak. As children, we watched and participated in baking and cooking with our mothers and grandmothers.
Long before we started the company, we enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends that told us that our food is so good, we should go into the business. And so we did...
In 2011 we opened a stand at a Farmers Market serving our pierogies, haluski, manicotti, lasagna and other family recipes. We realized that people were enjoying these types of foods and one of the comments we would hear often was “this reminds me of what my mother (or grandmother) used to make”.
We have since expanded to several farm markets and are now beginning to place our products in small regional stores.
As owners, we are passionate about our company. We are hands-on in the full process from baking, packaging and marketing our products. We invite you to stop by one of our locations to try what we have been enjoying since childhood.
