The Bishop Kemper School for Ministry is a unique educational institution that provides high quality theological education in a local setting for people in the Episcopal Dioceses of Kansas, Western Kansas, Nebraska and West Missouri.
Its courses and programs are open to individuals pursuing ordination as priests and deacons as well as to lay leaders.
Classes typically take place the second weekend of the month (August-May) at Grace Cathedral in Topeka, Kansas, and at the adjacent Bethany Place Conference Center, which also provides overnight accommodations.
Courses include a combination of classroom instruction and independent study. Each course lasts a total of eight weeks. Students devote the first four weeks to completing preparatory assignments before the class meets, After the weekend class meets, students complete any additional research and assignments over the next four weeks.
