Caracol is a Mexican Coastal Kitchen and the newest restaurant from Chef Hugo Ortega and Tracy Vaught. Located in the heart of Houston's Galleria area, Caracol's menus is a culinary tour along Mexico's 16 coastal states. One focal point of the main dining room is the oyster bar, where fresh Gulf and appellation oysters are shucked-to-order and served raw or cooked in Ortega's custom wood-burning, domed oven.Caracol is my homage to this amazing, versatile and healthful delicacy.Here at Caracol, we source the best ingredients from the Pacific, Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean for our authentic regional and historic dishes of Mexico.
