This will be the beginning of the Change Youth Project (Public Policy Initiatives) in doing research, creating solutions, developing curriculum & programs, and giving this youth generation a voice in Washington D.C. to address Congress for the young voices of America, and send a message to our youth generation, "America Believes in You.”
There will be a 6 member board consisting of teachers, youth leaders, and policymakers from across our country. For more information, please look for updates on our website and social media. In the coming weeks, we will announce the names of the leaders who will help to develop this groundbreaking educational curriculum that will help our youth generation realize their full potential, give hope to the hopeless, and inspire positive change.
Imagine a typical high school in the U.S. having about 750 students. Close to 150 of these students experience bullying at school. Over 1/3 of the girls and about 1/5 of the boys suffer some degree of depression. 170 students will have been offered or sold drugs, and 345 (nearly half) will have had sex. By the end of their senior year, roughly 217 of these students will have dropped out. These are some of the issues youth are facing across the country - and some of the statistics are even grimmer in Arizona
