Clay has been extensively involved in financial markets for many years, recently celebrating over 30 years of achievement in financial services. In 1984 he started as a senior investment officer with a major national bank. Prior to partnering with Cambridge Financial (which is associated with Penn Mutual, the nation’s second oldest mutual life insurance company - founded in 1847), Clay has affiliated with a number of other prominent financial institutions and has been awarded some of the industry’s highest honors. As a Lifetime Member* of the Million Dollar Round Table (a worldwide organization), Clay has achieved the status of “Top of the Table”* - which is their highest honor and is only awarded to the top 1% within this prestigious organization. He has also consistently earned recognition as a top producer from the companies with whom he affiliates, including attaining the Golden Eagle Conference/Chairman’s Council* consistently since 1999, earning lifetime membership in the Royal Blue Conference/President’s Club*, and achieving Peak Recognition/Circle of Excellence* for outstanding performance with his broker-dealer. He is particularly pleased with his recent selection by The Cambridge Financial Center as 2012 Associate of the Year “in recognition of [his] dedication to excellence, commitment to personal values, and [his] discipline to succeed.”
Clay has also demonstrated a keen commitment to strengthening the financial services community as a whole. Clay’s expertise in financial markets resulted in his selection to serve as a member of the Agent’s Advisory Council - an elected leadership committee responsible for representing agents throughout the country and assisting the executive teams and senior management of several national financial organizations in defining strategic initiatives. He has also served on the local board of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.
Clay focuses his practice primarily in three areas: working closely with CPAs, attorneys, and their clients; assisting small business owners and retirees with retirement planning; and working extensively with all types of qualified and non qualified plans with an emphasis on tax reduction strategies and safe money investing. He has also been the keynote speaker at numerous seminars regarding various financial topics of interest. Clay emphasizes that his success is the result of team effort including Ben Chappell, Sandy Kenyon, & David Templeton.
Clay’s passion is protecting the assets his clients have worked so hard to acquire. He loves to be of service to clients, family, friends, and all with whom he comes in contact. Clay is married and has 6 amazing children. He considers his most important treasure to be his wonderful wife and family, and his friends.
