Clotheshorse Anonymous began as classic garage start-up – a local clothing swap operated by two neighborhood moms, Jan Kennedy and Nancy Ungerman. With 6 kids between them, Jan and Nancy stole time from domestic duties to satisfy their entrepreneurial longings and love of high fashion. It was a time of energy, experimentation and fun in Fashion and Texas was into it big! When Jan and Nancy approached the fashionistas of Texas high society about profiting from their gently-worn clothing, the idea was a 'delicate' topic – hence the promise of discretion in our company name. Our consignors secrets, and their trust have always been safe with us. Clotheshorse’s ongoing innovation in creating an unparalleled experience for our consignors has been the key to our longevity and success.Since our humble beginnings in the 70s, CHA has grown to become an internationally-recognized destination for shoppers and consignors alike.
