This page is dedicated to the gardening efforts at the Boise Stage Stop.
The Boise Stage Stop has over 100 years of history in the Boise area. Recently we have started growing our own fruits and vegetables for the restaurant and utilize various types of gardens.
We feature an aeroponics garden in our restaurant that grows plants in space-saving towers using only water and air - there is no soil involved!
We also have an outdoor garden that we use seasonally, and is supported in the cold months by our indoor grow-room and our greenhouse, where plants are started and wait until they can be put into the ground.
Gardening for a restaurant is a huge undertaking and we are eager to share our successes and downfalls in order to provide education and encourage other restaurants to try this themselves.
For a restaurant, growing your own garden can be beneficial in that you save money on your produce bill, you can offer fresh, seasonal flavors to your customers, and you ensure that people are consuming a locally grown product that helps stimulate our local economy!
Please feel free to message us with any questions or your own experiences with gardening for a restaurant.
