305 E Walnut St Springfield MO United States 65806
Located in the heart of Downtown Springfield Missouri at the corner of Walnut Street and Robberson Avenue, Hotel Vandivort is the first centrally located downtown hotel to tap into the unique walkability of Springfield's arts, dining, and entertainment cultural hub. This upscale independent boutique hotel focuses on creating a truly unique local experience for its guests and patrons.
The hotel project includes a complete renovation of the historic 107 year-old Masonic Temple building, previously known as the Vandivort Center, along with a new 8,700 square foot addition to the north. Built as a masonic temple in 1906 the building is steeped in the rich history and tradition of the downtown community. Hotel Vandivort seeks to pair modern design and comforts with the building's unique architectural character and extensive past. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places and is designated as a local historic site. The owners have partnered with preservation organizations to reclaim the building's history and original beauty while creating a thriving social and hospitality venue.
At the forefront of design, Hotel Vandivort will boast a unique boutique design style embracing the historic elements of the building while pairing clean modern design with a vintage industrial vibe. The design plays on the contrast of historic/vintage and modern/swank. Guests will feel they have entered a truly unique space of artistic high-end style. The lobby and public spaces will exhibit surprising design statements, such as an interior living wall and a large artistic light installation in the bar.
Hotel Vandivort will have 50 rooms—including 12 suites and 2 premiere suites—designed to meet the needs of both out-of-town guests and locals looking for a “staycation” or a space to entertain. Developing the hotel from an existing historic building provides the opportunity for unique room spaces and a variety of individual room design elements. Guests will find a wide array of high end rooms to meet their tastes and preferences, with the chance to make each stay an uncommon experience. Guest rooms and suites will offer:
Refrigerator, honors bar, coffee maker, and snack assortment featuring local products
27 rooms with kitchenettes including refrigerator, microwave, wet bar sink, and glassware, perfect for entertaining and longer stays
50″ flat screen TVs with HD channels
Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the hotel
Pillow-top beds with a selection of quality pillows
Pet friendly accommodations
Fully equipped on-site fitness center
THE SOCIAL EXPERIENCE
More than just a hotel, Hotel Vandivort seeks to create a vibrant social experience serving not only the hotel guests but the wider community. Often modern hotel guests desire to come down out of their rooms and feel they are in an active cultural hub rather than a pass-through silent lobby. Whether people want to meet for a cocktail or local brew, cozy up to the fireplace, or plug in and get some work done at one of the long library tables, the Vandivort lobby will become the living room of downtown Springfield.
Open floor plan with exposed original steel pillars and brick walls
Bar/Restaurant, yet to be named, will serve a full breakfast and small plates for lunch and dinner
Multiple lounge areas including secluded seating pockets, a cozy fireplace, and a unique window seat with a lively downtown view
Library and business center with distinctive communal work tables crafted from 100-year-old wood reclaimed from the building
THE MEETING AND EVENT SPACES
Featuring 2 high-design meeting/entertaining spaces on the lobby level in addition to the historic 4th floor ballroom with elegant modern design and stunning downtown views, Hotel Vandivort will provide wedding, meeting, and entertaining experiences capturing the style and vibrant culture of the hotel and the downtown scene. The hotel will offer full in-house catering, event planning services, and sophisticated multi-media equipment.
The Vandivort Ballroom - At 2,800 square feet, this historic space was originally used for masonic meetings and events. With sophisticated style and striking views of downtown from its oversized windows, this space is perfect for weddings, reunions, fundraisers, press conferences, classes, or conferences.
Space 1 - 850 square feet of private space for mid-sized meetings and events
Space 2 - 250 square feet for intimate meetings and private lunches or dinners
The owners of Hotel Vandivort believe “being green” is not just a marketing tactic. They intend to create a business taking every reasonable step to reduce negative impacts on the surrounding environment. By reusing a structure in existence for over a hundred years, the very nature of the project preserves both history and our environment. This environmentally conscious momentum will continue throughout the construction process and into the operational practices of the hotel.
