What is IHEPS? IHEPS is the acronym for Indiana Healthcare Emergency Preparedness Symposium. It was started in 2012, by District 5 Disaster Preparedness Planning Committee, as a way to bring all of Indiana, and other areas, education on Emergency Preparedness. We bring together a variety of topics that present themselves, before, during, and after a disaster situation. Although we cannot cover every topic, and every stage of a disaster in the day and a half, we do our best to address as many diverse topics that will interest everyone, no matter your job title or education.
Why should you attend? By attending our Indiana Healthcare Emergency Symposium, everyone should walk away with a better understanding of how to cope with many different types of disasters. You will learn things that happen in a disaster that you may not have thought of before. You will be able to meet folks whom have experienced all types for disasters, first hand, from responders to emergency supply vendors. You will come away with ideas and techniques on how you and/or your facility will best survive almost any widespread tragedy.
