Imaginuity Interactive was founded in 1997 by McKinley “Mak” Hailey. From the start, the agency split its energies between designing websites and applications, and helping people in West and South Dallas learn about technology — with the former largely paying for the latter.Using the funding earned through web design, Mak helped establish cyber centers in low-income areas, and ran after-school programs in the Dallas Independent School District, teaching Web and graphic design and life skills. One of his biggest projects was helping the Foundation for Community Empowerment provide personal computers and training to approximately 7,000 families in the area.Mak hired current partner Corbett Guest, and Corbett brought along long-term corporate clients who were yearning for better service and more accountability. They found it in Imaginuity. As Tim and Gary joined the firm, they brought valuable experience gained in large business enterprises. And a focused desire to do stellar work in a nimble, responsive environment. Mak transitioned out of daily management to focus on his health. He passed away in 2002 after a long battle with cancer.
