Marian Fest was an idea conceived by Billy Perkins as a way of funding his Eagle Scout project. It also was created to provide an opportunity for local music acts to play on a "big stage" through a concert-like setting. The first Marian Fest took place on April 28, 2013, and consisted of five acts. On June 14, 2013, Marian Fest held "Summer Fest," which included 6 acts, including local Chicago band She's Alive (fronted by Marian alumni Alex Rogers).
As of now, Marian Fest has grown into a larger scope: a place where acts from all areas of music have the chance to experience what playing a show is really like. It provides a "big stage" experience for aspiring artists to perform in front of a receptive, energetic crowd of young music lovers.
