Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is a form of fatty liver disease in which fat builds up in the liver, causing inflammation and eventually fibrosis or cirrhosis (scarring of the liver). Often noted as the “silent” liver disease, it resembles alcoholic liver disease, but occurs in people who drink little or no alcohol.
If you are over 18 years of age and have liver disease caused by NASH, you may qualify to take part in a research study involving an investigational drug being developed to treat liver fibrosis and cirrhosis in patients with NASH.
Volunteers will undergo a medical evaluation to further determine eligibility. If you qualify, you will receive all study related care at no cost and you will be compensated for time and travel.
