About Business

VISION

For the development of a comprehensive health system, children’s services are essential, and the competitive advantage of IU Health (IUH) is the availability of superior tertiary/quaternary services combined with and supporting community-based primary care. Development of new tertiary/quaternary pediatric neurosurgery programs such as neuro-oncology/clinical trials, minimally invasive epilepsy surgery featuring laser ablation of seizure foci, and fetal surgery for repair of myelomeningocele/spina bifida, and building on the outstanding clinical and research pediatric neurosciences of Riley/IUH can fill a key existing health system need while creating a program that can be a regional hub and a national destination.

MISSION

The vision will be carried out through the establishment of high-quality and high-value care across a range of pediatric neurosurgical subspecialty programs; the development of collaborative and high-impact clinical and basic science research programs that help define the future of pediatric neurosurgery; the training of the next generation of neurosurgeons and pediatric neurosurgeons; and developing the next generation of pediatric neurosurgical leaders and innovator through meaningful faculty mentorship.
