On The Line Productions is an up and coming production company dedicated to bringing positive theatrical experiences and productions to the Terre Haute community. With On The Line Productions, we strive to uplift and at times educate a broad audience. Bedouin Players is our subsidiary theatrical troupe, that offers workshops and production opportunities to the youth.
We will present Neil Simon's "Prisoner of Second Avenue" at Harmony Hall on Lafayette Avenue in Terre Haute on October 7, and 8th at 7:30pm with a Sunday matinee at 2:30. Tickets are $10 and will be sold at the door. No reservations are needed.
Following the Sunday matinee of "Prisoner of Second Avenue" will be a staged reading of a new work by Allan Bates, a succesful local playwright, who has seen his work produced in Chicago to outstanding reviews.
Our first mainstage presentation, The Diary of Anne Frank, by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett was presented at Harmony Hall in Terre Haute on June 10th, 11th and 12th, 2011. We were able to partner with CANDLES Holocaust Museum of Terre Haute for this production and brought in a guest speaker, Mary Wright. With the help of our patrons we were able to donate $400 to the museum.
In December of 2010, Bedouin Players presented an original piece, The Clown, by Ted Compton as part of a theatrical workshop for children. Participants learned about all aspects of the production process, including playwriting, auditions, costumes, scenic elements and acting. We presented The Clown to a general audience at Indiana State University, and also toured the show to Franklin Elementary School in Terre Haute. Our next Bedouin Players workshop will see us travel to the Sullivan County Public Library for a puppetry workshop on October 12th, 2011.
