Barbur Blvd. Equipment Rentals was started by Richard Edwards and with guidance from Cora Edwards, as a sporting goods retail and rental shop for hunting, fishing and skiing equipment. Providing outstanding customer service and meeting customer demands, the company quickly evolved and in the 1960’s added tables, chairs, and linens to their rental inventory for a party department.
Now known as Barbur Blvd. Rentals, the Edwards’ are branded for being experts in the party planning business throughout the Portland metropolitan for over 50 years. Their business grew exponentially and inventory went from table and chair settings for 200 to 10,000 in 6 years. In 1986, Scott Edwards launched a new division to expand the company. Oregon Events and Tent Company now provides tents for outdoors parties and structures for events. In 1989 Barbur Blvd. Rentals had 100 square feet of tenting available. Today they have 200,000 plus square feet of gazebo, marquee, and pavilion configurations, in addition to frame structure and pull tenting. They inventory china and flatware for 6,000 and are always adding new stock in an effort to keep their customers on the verge of industry trends.
In addition to party goods, Barbur Blvd. Rentals also have an extensive inventory of catering equipment for the “at home do it yourselfer” to the heavy construction professional. Wallpaper steamers, hydraulic stump grinders to TORO Dingo’s and 45 foot man lifts… they have it all!
Well into the third generation of family, Barbur Blvd. Rentals and Oregon Event and Tent Co. continue to be the local leader in party, events and equipment rentals.
