I was born an artist. Seriously, it's in my veins, my heart and I think even in my pores.
I’m also a lifelong lover of fashion, design and thrifting. I get to combine all three by giving new life to cool and fashionable pieces in great shape that deserve another chance. I describe my style as "Eclectic Indie Dances with Chic.” I was Indie before Indie was Indie. Even though I don't hate anyone, I do love grunge fashion – its casual comfort and individuality. Since each one of my pieces is filled with positive energy, gratitude and joy, I create what I call “happy grunge!” What inspired that unlikely combination? A long line of independent thinkers with great artistic genes.
My mother taught me to sew. She was raised by painters. The "oil on canvas" kind. My grandparents spent their days walking around Eugene, Oregon, drawing the lines of buildings, painting the landscapes of parks, sculpting figurines from wood and stone. Grandpa Bob made tools from scraps and recycled materials and tended to his vegetable garden in his free time. Gram Norma would stroll downtown with paintings for sale and thrift at second-hand stores any free chance she got. At a time when industry was booming and nearly every household in America was buying their first family car, my grandparents survived one day at a time, one sale at time. True hipsters who succeeded against the odds. They passed on their gifts to their six children. That legacy extends now four generations – to my two teenaged kids.
For the past 16 years, I’ve styled hair. Another creative process I love. My story isn't as extraordinary as my grandparents – yet! But unlike Grandpa Bob and Gram Norma, I have this amazing platform to share my artistic vision with the world.
For now, I’m focused on transforming used clothing into a fresh new look and constructing aprons and market bags from scraps of material and recycled fabric. My handmade goods are composed of 100% recycled materials. Even the thread comes from spools I find while thrifting!
I have hundreds of items and a thousand more ideas. I only wish I had about five more of me to get them all photographed and listed for you to enjoy. For now, I'm mostly a one woman show. If you don't see what you’re looking for, please send me a convo. If I don't have it, I will try to custom make it for you. I hope you enjoy checking out my stuff and I look forward to sharing more of my passion as I continue to create and list.
