Set on the corner of a historic building in Bankers Hill, Royal Stone is a locally-owned and operated restaurant that emphasizes dining as a special time for gathering with friends and family – a holdover from owners (and husband-wife team) John and Jackie Stone’s Italian and French heritage. Raised in families where traditional European styles of cooking were key, and where there was always a pot on the stove and an abundance of incredible meals to be shared, John and Jackie’s upbringing is now reflected in the menus and hospitality shared at Royal Stone.
Emitting natural hues of warm browns with touches of golds and reds, Royal Stone’s interior is a comfortable space where guests will discover cozy booths along picture-window walls, intimate dining tables and a curved granite-top bar where Royal Stone keeps a selection of craft beers and boutique wines. Outdoors, an elongated patio lined with black iron railing, floral accents and twinkling lights wraps around the corner of First and Upas and welcomes all to catch up with friends under large red shade umbrellas.
Join us for daily breakfast and lunch, thoughtful dinners served Wednesday through Sunday and weekend brunch. Our ingredients are sourced from local and regional farms and purveyors; the end product is a seasonally changing menu with courses like polenta batter calamari, steamed mussels, Seasonal House Gnocchi made daily, the Burger Giovanni ground in-house and topped with artisan cheeses, caramelized onions and house miso-mayo.
Royal Stone also offers happy hour pricing on draft beers, wines and appetizers each Wednesday through Sunday between 3:30 and 6 p.m.
Rounding out the experience, our notable coffee service includes artisan Stumptown coffees from Portland, Oregon complemented by locally baked goods (Bread & Cie) and traditional Italian pastries.
