Schutz Foss Architects originated as a branch firm Foss Associates, a large Midwest Corporation based in Fargo, North Dakota. Allen Rapacz started working for Foss Architects in 1980. In 1982, Allen and Jerry Schutz relocated to Billings, MT to open and operate a branch office. In 1986, Jerry Schutz purchased controlling interest in the branch office and Schutz Foss Architects was established. Mr. Rapacz and Mr. Schutz worked together in the firm until 1997, when Mr. Rapacz became President/Owner of Schutz Foss Architects, P.C.
In 1999 Mr. Rapacz expanded Schutz Foss Architects and established a second office in Gillette, WY, allowing the firm to develop a regional multi-state client base that has grown and flourished. The demand of projects located in Eastern Montana and West Central North Dakota allowed Schutz Foss Architects to establish a third office in Dickinson, ND, in 2010 during the economic recession and recovery.
With over 33 years of experience, Mr. Rapacz has overseen projects of various sizes and costs and a client base covering 12 states. Schutz Foss Architects has been able to develop and maintain crucial relationships accounting for an 83.30% repeat client history.
