There is a perception that all a person has to do to improve their health is to eat less and move more. Sounds easy. But the best intentions often fail without the proper knowledge and coaching necessary to change unhealthy behaviors. People get hurt when working out without understanding proper form and mobility issues. They diet without knowing how certain foods – and when the are eaten – trigger the body to gain unwanted pounds.
New Beginnings is Unique
No program, initiative or organization in the state brings this level of experience and record of success to focus solely on improving the fitness and health of low-income women. This is not a “quick fix.” New Beginnings addresses serious challenges that demand serious solutions – engaging the women it serves in long-term changes to habits and attitudes. New Beginnings’ impact is life-transforming, spreading benefits from each woman to her family and community.
New Beginnings programs are designed to prevent and stop behaviors that lead to obesity and related diseases – where women – whatever their age, background or income – can achieve new levels of fitness, strength, well-being and confidence. By delivering targeted solutions to the epidemic of obesity in our community, our goal is to provide long-term wellness solutions and change women’s behavior – leading them to healthier lives for themselves and their families.
