Once upon a time (June 2011 to be exact), in a small Brooklyn apartment, taffy so sweet, so salty, and delicious was carefully handcrafted to life, changing the world of taffy forever. From that very first batch, Marissa Wu, owner and founder, knew they were onto something special and began to perfect just the right flavors. Salty Road uses only the finest, all-natural ingredients to create a taffy more balanced, creamy and flavorful than ever before. With the addition of a signature salty crunch, due to every batch containing large grain sea salt, the Salty Road was born.
Since its establishment, Salty Road has prided itself on making the best salt-water taffy with quality ingredients. Every single piece of melt-in-your-mouth taffy is handmade from the mixing, to the pulling, to the cutting, to the wrapping. The unique flavors showcase the natural taste of what’s in it, providing a taffy experience like no other. Each and every piece is made with real ingredients, from real people, for real people.
With an outpouring of support from fans and consumers, retail partners and media in 2013, Salty Road was on the road (no pun intended) to success. The brand has grown, but the taffy remains to be produced in the same way it started—by hand and by heart and right in their own factory.
