If you are a TRICARE patient, please research and know the following -
Tricare Prime Active Duty: unless Tricare states otherwise, your routine eye exam is not paid for unless you go on base.
Tricare Prime Active Duty Dependent: every 12 months, you are eligible for a routine eye exam with a $0 copay for a "in network" provider
Tricare Standard Active Duty Dependent: you have a deductible - usually $50 or $150. If you have not met your deductible and we submit a claim, you will either pay for the eye exam out of pocket, or you pay a copay. You are eligible every 12 months for a routine eye exam.
Tricare Standard Retired - unless you are Diabetic, Tricare DOESN'T pay for a routine eye exam.
Tricare Prime Retired - every 24 months you are eligible for a routine eye exam with a $0 copay.
Tricare for Life - we are in network, and case by case verification.
VSP Insurance: We are OUT of NETWORK and therefore, if you don't have out of network benefits, then we would not be able to see you. None of your copays change with us being out of network.
If you have UNITED HEALTH CARE insurance, most likely you will have SPECTERA vision insurance and not realize it.
**Always a note to patients: this is a MEDICAL office. At any time, your routine eye exam visit could change into a medical visit.
**Know your insurance - call them, ask questions. You pay for it, then know what you are paying for. Know your medical copays, know your vision insurance, the copays, the benefits and what you can and can't do.
**Ask questions, never be afraid to ask questions.
